After being spotted in public for the first time, BYD’s new electric sports car looks ready to challenge the Porsche 911. Designed by former Lamborghini and Audi designer Wolfgang Egger, this EV is nearly set for its debut.

BYD introduced the Fang Cheng Bao Super 9 concept in April, part of their fifth sub-brand launched in June 2023, which includes off-road vehicles and sports cars. The brand's first vehicle, the Bao 5, launched last November, followed by the Bao 8 SUV, Super 3 SUV, and the Super 9 convertible sports car.

According to CarNewsChina, BYD’s new EV sports car was seen in China, covered in blue camouflage, revealing a sporty two-door design. The car is still in development, missing headlights and a rear bumper, and is expected to launch under the Denza brand, which BYD fully owns after taking over from Mercedes-Benz.

The new EV sports car might have four seats, like the Porsche 911, and could feature a powertrain similar to the Denza Z9 with nearly 1,000 hp (710 kW) from three electric motors.
