The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) has approved the high-luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) upgrade project, aimed at enhancing the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator.

This upgrade will intensify the LHC’s beams, allowing for the production of more data and enabling scientists to study rare particle interactions with greater precision.

A significant milestone was reached with the addition of two magnet assemblies to the Inner Triplet (IT) String at CERN, marking an important step in testing new technologies for the HL-LHC and paving the way for exciting future discoveries in particle physics.
